Plays in Progress:

We are currently devising a project for World Mental Health Day in October 2008. This project, the largest the company has undertaken, will be a full-days event at the Pump House Arts Centre. We aim to include local charities, statutory bodies, musicians, actors poets and performers in the project; all of who have a vested interest in promoting mental illness and treatment. Also, in the pipe-line is a half hour comedy that offers a whirlwind tour of Watford’s celebrated and illustrious past. Despite a solid factual grounding, our slapstick humour will make you completely forget that you’re actually learning about Watford’s proudest moments in time. Also in development are a number of plays which look set to explore the themes of suicide and elderly care. These plays ‘The House’ and ‘Helene’ are in pre-production and currently being worked upon for the 2009/2010 season. Sean Flynn is busy writing Hubris: The Prince of Pop - Part 1 (The Beginning of the End of Michael Jackson), a very dark and humorous factual play examining the key participants of the 1993 scandal that had Michael pay out over $20 Million dollars to avoid court. This is the first of two exciting plays, the second based on the trial that could have put Jackson away for twenty years if he had been found guilty. Both plays are based on the printed works of Raymond Chandler, Rick Sky, J Randy Taborrali and court transcripts of the actual trial. As well as this Sean is spending time developing and writing production for 2008 called ‘Freak Show’ (working title) for World Mental Health Day. The writers group is currently developing workshops for schools on ‘relationships’ and ‘drugs and alcohol.’ These two, short, productions will be ready for performance in June/July 2008. Both are commissioned projects from local primary schools. Happy Families – The Musical, is a play by June Williamson about the lives of a dysfunctional family who become the subjects of a reality TV show. The writing is going well and it should be ready for production sometime soon. Original lyrics, music score and choreography are currently in development and this will be an exciting step forward for the company. Also scheduled for development is a drama based on the plight of a homeless woman struggling to cope with mental illness in a society that renders her helpless and invisible. The lack of holistic on-going care almost results in tragedy, but one doctor’s diligence saves the day.

Nothing beats a good story - I'm sure we all remember our mother reading to us at bedtime.

We offer a range of services from simple narration, to fully interactive role-play sessions with students joining in. Music, song and dance are easily incorporated and are sure to make the experience one to treasure.
